Critter Intros: Sea Bunny
The Sea Bunny (Jorunna parva) is a tiny nudibranch (sea slug) from the Indo-Pacific, famous for resembling a fluffy rabbit . Its "bunny ears" are rhinophores, sensory organs for detecting scents. The "furry" coat consists of sensory rods. This hermaphroditic mollusc feeds on toxic sponges, storing the toxins in its body as a defense against predators. This tiny, toxic marvel is a fascinating resident of coral reefs.
